Sugden, McFee & Roos LLP is pleased to announce that David Eleff has expanded the scope of his practice into the area of Workplace Investigations. Having recently obtained a certificate in Workplace Investigation Techniques, David looks forward to assisting employers, both unionized and non-unionized, in conducting investigations into complaints of workplace harassment, discrimination, violence and other forms of misconduct.
David is well versed in the Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. In past, he has acted for a large public body in court proceedings related to workplace bullying and harassment including: Ahluwalia v. British Columbia (Workers’ Compensation Board), 2021 BCSC 399 (Upheld on appeal: 2022, BCCA 165); Njoroge v. British Columbia (Workers Compensation Board), 2020 BCSC 2241 and Njoroge v. British Columbia (Workers’ Compensation Board), 2021 BCCA 203. Additionally, as a litigator with over 13 years of trial experience David brings a wealth of experience in interviewing and questioning witnesses.
Beyond taking conduct as lead investigator David is available in the following related capacities:
- Assisting internal investigators develop their investigative plan, draft question outlines, assess evidence, guidance on preparing an investigative report, advice on unexpected developments or complications encountered during the course of the investigation; and
- Consultation and strategic guidance with respect to policies and procedures governing bullying, harassment and discrimination in the workplace.
