Elisie Garlipp is an Articling Student at Sugden, McFee & Roos LLP, where she is gaining experience in a broad variety of litigation matters while working with SMR’s experienced counsel.
Elisie brings a maturity to her practice that is not reflected in her seniority in BC as a result of her earlier experience as a lawyer in Brazil, where she practiced as a lawyer starting in 2009, specializing in Civil Litigation and Employment Law.
On moving to Canada, Elisie gained extensive practical experience within the British Columbia legal system by holding positions at the New Westminster Law Courts and the Regional Crown Counsel’s office, which provided her with a thorough and practical understanding of BC court procedures and practices.
Before becoming an Articling Student at the firm, Elisie learned greatly from working as a legal assistant to one of SMR’s partners, Patrick Lewis. During that time, Elisie successfully completed the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) requirements, including coursework at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. She was awarded her Certificate of Qualification in 2025.
